Step-by-step guide to connecting your Athena instance to Rupert

To connect Athena, go to Connections > Athena in Rupert

Fill in the required fields as follows:

1. Source Name

Choose a clear and recognizable name for this Athena source in Rupert

2. Region

This is the AWS Region where your Athena instance is hosted.

Example: us-east-1, eu-central-1, etc.

3. Workgroup

Provide the name of your Athena workgroup.
You can find or manage workgroups via the Athena console under Workgroup settings.

4. Catalog Name

Typically this will be AwsDataCatalog unless you're using a custom Glue Data Catalog.

5. Database Name

Enter the name of the database you want Rupert to query.
Find it in the Databases section of the Athena Query Editor.

6. Access Key ID & Secret Access Key

These should be credentials for an IAM user or role with permission to query Athena and access the associated S3 buckets.
